Aiming to meet the group’s needs, the harbor which is 595 meters in total length enables the ships with a maximum weight of 80.000 DW tones to approach.
Our company proceeds the exporting and importing by sea using this facility.
Location of the harbor and brief information
Nuh Çimento Sanayi A.Ş. harbor facilities was established at Hereke region of Kocaeli county, 40 46,5 North – 029 36,5 East coordinates, and north coast of Izmit gulf. The harbor is located at the very middle of Istanbul/Izmit/Adapazarı line which is the most important commerce and trade line of Turkey and it is 300 meters away from D-100 highway, approximately 1 kilometer away from TEM (Trans European Motorway) highway and 500 meters away from the plant field.

Treated Loads
On behalf of Nuh Çimento Sanayi A.Ş., cement and clinker loading; discharging of loads like coal, trass, and bauxite are proceeded. Moreover, all kinds of cast and general cargo treatment can be done for third parties. An average treatment capacity of 3.000.000 tones per year is available.
Equipments
Ameco Automatic Ship Loading Crane and Band Conveyor System: With the automatic ship loading system on the quay Number 1 it is possible to load the ships faster and without harming the environment. With the completely covered conveyor system equipped with jet filters, direct load of cement and clinker from plant to ship can be done. Load rate of the system is 600 tones/hour and the coal discharged from the ships is transferred to the plant with the same band system using the coast crane. Top draft (maximum air draft) permitted for cement and clinker loads is 12 meters.
With coast shipping project which was started in 1996 and finished in 1997, the system which enables the cement and clinker to automatically be loaded to the ship by means of an underground tunnel with 3 m. diameter and 300 m. length and the pipe conveyor in it was started to serve for the first time in Turkey.
The system is mobile on the rails along the port and it enables the ships to be loaded accordingly for every position they have. Steel structure of the transport bands, carrying clinker and cement to the crane, stands upon independent steel stakes which do not burden to the port.
Liebherr LPS 400 coast crane: Multipurpose liebherr LPS 400 coast crane, which was started to use in 2000 and having a working tonnage of 104 mt and capacity of 650 t/h, is the largest coast crane around our neighborhood. By means of the attachments that the crane which is mobile on the rails along the port has, it is possible to treat all kinds of cast load, general cargo, scrap, heavy log and container.
In our harbor, the rules of “International Ship and Harbor Safety (I.S.P.S. code)” which is applied throughout the world by International Marine Organization (IMO) and certified by Turkish Republic Marine Undersecretariat are applied.
At the factories and harbor fields of Nuh Çimento Sanayi A.Ş., OHSAS 18001 Labor Health and Safety system which is certified by British Standard Institute (BSI) is adopted. All staff has been trained about emergency situations (fire, earthquake, flood, etc.) and equipped with required equipmens for intervention.
A vehicle is ready for 24 hours in the case of an emergency at the harbor and there is an ambulance we can use for 24 hours at our plant which is 500 meters away.
